Energy saving is a responsible and virtuous practice for everyone who takes the environment to heart and wants to consume and pollutes less with own daily behavior to ensure an ecosustainable habitat for present and future generations.

In the green lighting sector the development has been remarkable with the insertion of low energy consumption bulbs in place of the old incandescent ones. Led lights and compact fluorescent lamps are the most common. The last ones are mostly used because are less expensive than led lights and recently have been improved considerably to have the same visual comfort of the incandescent lamps.

To know if a lamp is low energy consumption the way is very easy! On the packaging there is a label showing the new energy classification with a scale from A++ for the most efficient light bulbs to E for the least efficient. In the same label you can find also the energy consumption in a year expressed in KWh/1000h that allows to compare the different kinds of lamps and choose the most efficient.

The energy classification is not just for lamps but also for the electrical devices. The technological and regulatory progress together with the increased awareness of customers and businesses towards a sustainable development have led to a gradual improvement of the energy efficiency of devices mostly used like refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, dryers, dishwasher, televisions and air conditioners.

The GreenWatcher looks at the energy consumption to assess the ecosustainability of retail businesses, rewarding who use low energy consumption lamps or energy from renewable sources. In the energy sector of our EcoAssess and EcoOpinion users can give all the information on that.
