What do we mean when we talk about organic food

22 February 2016

Organic food protects our health and respects the environment

Organic foods are produced without contaminating the nature with chemical or synthetic additives and in an extensively way by the rotation of cultivations, focusing on quality and not on maximizing yield. In reality this is a definition very limited compared to all the good ecosustainable practices fielded by farm and food ecologic companies. They cover all the company's management system that has, as main goals, healthy eating by offering genuine products and sustainable development through the protection of natural resources.

In addition to agriculture, even in breeding is used the same eco-friendly "philosophy" paying special attention to the welfare of animals during their lives, while meeting the specific needs of each species. So the concept of healthy eating is also extended to them respecting nutritional needs at different stages.

How can you have certainty of buying organic foods really? To tell the truth begins to be very difficult because more and more products claim to be such. Surely the presence of the bio European logo, consists of a stylized leaf composed by 12 white stars on a green background, it should be a certainty for the less in the distinction between "organic product" and "natural product". Indeed so-called "natural" foods are not subject to any legislation, therefore, are not bound by specific requirements and are not required to undergo any checks.
