Eco-easy solutions of The GreenWatcher

Today designing interiors of flats, bars, shops or other public places does not mean studying just the practical, functional and aesthetic aspect but also considering the ecosustainability.

People pay more attention to choose materials and technologies to use for the energy saving. Using ecosustainable materials from natural origin is increasingly widespread to make modern and green interiors. Wood is the most popular but also cork, hemp and bamboo are widely used.

In this field certifications, attesting the compliance of materials with certain sustainable standards, assume greater importance. For example PEFC label on furniture certifies that it is made of wood from eco-managed forests, or Ecolabel certification, UE ecologic mark, recognizes products with low environmental impact in their life cycle.

Another widespread trend is using pallets or refurbishing old furniture to create original and eco-friendly fittings to equip interiors of bars and little shops. Therefore recycling represents a valid alternative to reduce waste and consequently also the environmental impact, apart from being a source of innovation for design.

The GreenWatcher looks at the materials to assess the ecosustainability of retail businesses, rewarding who uses eco-friendly (i.e. certificated, reused, recycled, recyclable, ecologic, natural, etc.) materials or furnishings in the interior set up. In the material sector of our EcoAssess and EcoOpinion users can give all the information on that.

If you know eco-friendly businesses that use ecosustainable furniture send us your EcoOpinion and join TGW to spread the green!
If instead you are a company try our EcoAssess and certify your ecosustainability with the Certificate of Ecosustainability of The GreenWatcher!
